Every card opens through a scalloped ivory arch onto the same scene: a sandstone chhatri pavilion with a ribbed dome, flanked by two more, on a balustraded terrace among cypress trees and garden shrubs, with sprays of white and blush blossoms and buds climbing the edges. Each event takes its own colour in the outer frame: deep maroon with gold floral corners for the wedding, rose pink for the engagement, sunshine yellow with yellow blooms for the Haldi, sage green for the Mehendi, and a dusk blue for the Sangeet, where hanging lanterns and strings of lights frame a pool of floating lotuses and diyas.
